Velour Ropes Verses Braided Ropes for Chrome Rope Stanchions

Velour Ropes Verses Braided Ropes for Chrome Rope Stanchions

If you have ever seen chrome rope stanchions being used at places like movie theaters, banks or clubs, they probably were used in conjunction with velour ropes. Don't get me wrong, velour ropes look very nice but there is now another option that you should consider called Braided Ropes. Braided ropes are strands of material braided together to create one larger 1 1/2 inch diameter rope and we stock them in Black, Red and Blue. They offer a totally different look than traditional velour and look very rich or high end. Even if you own velour ropes now, consider adding some braided ropes to your inventory to give your facility a whole new look with a minimal investment.

One thing to note is braided ropes are heavier than velour so you want to make sure you are using a domed base stanchion that weighs about 20 lbs or more so they don't tip over. Flat base stanchions are usually much lighter and the heavier braided ropes can cause tipping of your stanchion posts or barriers.
